Planting & Care
Light: Alocasia plant requires very bright
indirect light but no direct sun.
Water: To prevent disease problems, water alocasias in the morning so they go into the night dry. If possible, water from below at the root zone rather than from above, to keep water off the leaves.
Fertilizer: Fertilize an Alocasia every two weeks from late March through September with a basic houseplant food diluted to 1/2 the recommended strength. Never fertilize during the winter.
Temperature: Alocasia plants prefer warm temperatures between 60°-80. Be sure to keep an Alocasia plant away from air conditioners and cold drafts.
Humidity: Alocasia plants grow best in high humidity. To increase the humidity around a house plant, place the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Be sure the plant is sitting on the pebbles and not in the water.
